13. Steven Spielberg

Steven Spielberg, director and co-founder of DreamWorks, donated $1 million to Priorities USA Action, a super-PAC that supported Hillary Clinton. He also donated $2,700 directly to Hillary Clinton herself.

Since the donation limit per candidate, per election is $2,700, Spielberg went out of his way to circumvent the system, like many other donors, through a Political Action Committee, also known as PAC.

Spielberg has donated approximately $800,000 to individual Democratic campaigns over the years and millions more to various democratic Political Action Committees.

Spielberg was a close friend to Bill Clinton, working with the former President on the USA Millenium celebration film, The American Journey, an eighteen-minute film that was presented at America’s Millenium Gala on December 31st, 1999.

In his career, Spielberg is famously known for E.T. the Extraterrestrial, Jaws, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Saving Private Ryan, to name a few.

12. J.J. Abrams

The world-renowned film director donated $500,000 to Priorities USA Action and $2,700 to Clinton herself. Abrams is known for films such as Armageddon, Star Wars – Force Awakens, Regarding Henry, Forever Young and Transformers.

Kelsey Grammer donated $2,700 to Rand Paul and $2,700 to Ben Carson during the 2016 Presidential Election. Grammer is an active member of the U.S. Republican Party and has expressed interests in someday running for a seat in the United States Congress, Mayor of New York or even President of the United States.

Although Grammer endorsed Ben Carson, he later endorsed President Donald Trump after he was elected the 45th President of the United States. Grammer is famously known for his roles in popular television shows Cheers and Frasier.

Her performance of Formation at the 2016 NFL Super Bowl Show was considered controversial as it appeared to reference the 50th anniversary of the Black Panther Party and the NFL historically forbids political statements in its performances.
